Do you want to get outside more, but not sure where to start? Where to go? What equipment you need? What to wear? Where to park the car? How far do you want to walk?
Experiencing the outdoors and going on an adventure doesnt have to be so complicated.
Starting out at a local nature reserve is a great way to experience the outdoors.
There is usually a carpark, information boards, choice of routes by length and difficulty, which in most cases will be sign posted throughout the whole walk, taking you in the right direction.
Some reserves even have information along the way on the animal inhabitants, tree and plant speices and general geology.
Search the internet for local nature reserves. You'll be surprised just how many there are near you. As far as equipment goes for walking a local nature reserve, you dont really need much. Dress appropriately for the weather, a pair of good walking boots and maybe a rucksack to carry refreshments.
Many nature reserves have cafes on site, which is great for a treat after a walk out in the fresh air.
